STRUCK DOWN ...

What would you do if life as you know it was struck down?

"My first 27 years, I had the world by the tail - successful student, athlete, musician, physical therapist, engaged to a great guy.  I was reduced from being a jock - biker, hiker, skier, you name it - to an invalid "horizontal woman" who has to lie down most of the time to manage excruciating back pain.  ..."

BUT NOT DESTROYED

Roxanne found herself disabled by pain, forced to lie down
twenty-two hours a day, and in a battle to survive and re-create her life.

Amazingly, Roxanne found a way to cope, and even thrive, with daily pain and to overcome the depression that always attended it.

Incredibly, she learned how to struggle against self-pity, bitterness, and envy toward others who don't have pain.

She learned to cry and grieve and let out some of the emotional pain that would otherwise have driven her to make self-destructive choices

She wrestled with the question of "Where is God?" – a loving God
 – if He allowed this pain into her life.

HAVE YOU BEEN STRUCK DOWN?

"If you have had your life turned upside down in the course of moments,
hours, or weeks, Roxanne knows your grief, your despair, your
helplessness. If you're nowhere close to the life you expected and hoped
for, the life that seemed the natural "next step," Roxanne knows what you're
  experiencing."
